Light up Diamond Valley on Saturday, December 6 has expanded to include Light Up Daytime. There are many events happening at the library from 1-3 pm. Storyteller Alberta Smallwood will be at the fireplace sharing stories with the help of her puppet friends. Alberta will be reading to families with children of all ages. Drop in to listen to a story—or more—before moving on to other activities. While that’s happening, there will be cookie decorating for the kids with Trish Draper of Artistic Adventures. Other activities include face-painting and wagon rides outside in Millennium Park. There will hot chocolate inside and bonfires outside to keep you warm and toasty throughout the afternoon. The Foothills Lions Club has created a passport which you can pick up and get stamped at local businesses in Turner Valley. Passports can be turned into the library on Saturday, December 6, once they are complete to go into a draw for a fabulous prize! Before our activities begin, don’t forget to drop into the SPCA Christmas Market taking place in the Flare’n’Derrick from 9 am-4 pm. Light Up Daytime will be a great opportunity to stop by and see the newly painted mural in our Children’s Area by Jazz Randle, which should be unveiled December 1. Once events finish at the library don’t forget to head on over for more fun activities in Black Diamond in the evening. For more information got to sheepriverlibrary.ca/news and click on the links.
