I appreciate living in an environment where it forces us to stop and take notice. It’s not just the scenic vistas, but the communities themselves offer so much and enrich our lives. I think the ability to share this beautiful space with like-minded people (and our pets) is what makes this space so special. Speaking of enriching our lives, please read through the paper and see all the events and updates that are taking place over the next few months. If you’ve recently moved to the area this summer, these community groups and the respective events they host, are an excellent way to build new relationships and root yourself into the community.

It may be as simple as two locals, stopping to admire the industriousness of our local beaver tribe, and although we’ve both seen their creative workmanship so many times, we won’t allow the vista to become familiar.

We need this community around us. There are so many situations, challenges and uncertainty we must process. This community can walk beside us as we wrestle with the challenges we face. It’s not the advice we need, but the knowledge of their presence and their ability to listen deeply. It’s also their willingness to offer some practical assistance. A neighbour we can trust.

This fall, hopefully you can allow for margin to handle the unexpected, and when the unexpected does take place, you can take the time to adjust your balance and continue the journey with hope.

Most the articles you read in this paper are written by people you’ll meet at the local coffee shop, trail, or grocery store. Many of the ads are local businesses, living and working in the area. This business support is greatly appreciated. As we don’t rely on any government funding, your financial support is and has been appreciated in order to provide the not-for- profit organizations an effective means of reaching their community.
