Should anyone wonder what the Marigold System under which all libraries in southern Alberta operate, an explanation can be made. The system organizes a network which collectively serves the needs of its residents of south western Alberta. It provides the inter library loan system in which you can access any book from any library in the south west.
Your library’s mandate is to provide a life long literary centre for the community of Longview. Your library provides access to a vast amount of knowledge. If you have an interest in our library and the community it serves, we would like to see you join our board. We meet the first Thursday of the month in the morning.
We have a lively summer reading program for our younger patrons. More of this in June or ask our librarian, Lynda, about it.
A pleasant read is Going to Beautiful by Antony Bidulka, an award winning Canadian author. His book is a love letter to our prairies, their peace, tranquility and resilience. It is also a murder mystery and a story of loss and grief ending in tenderness and joy.
