Kicks off the Season with Elections and a Successful Weigh-in!
The Millarville Stockland 4-H club is ready to start the year with new members and new projects! We had our first Club business meeting on October 8th at the Millarville Race Track. We then discussed and decided on our new club elections. We’re so lucky to have Jackie Rawn as our general leader again and Jeff Blatz returning as our beef leader. Our sheep club welcomes new leaders Matt Penman and Paul Stanley. Our president is Maddie Watkins, vice president is Peyton Chrisman and Sterling Christman returns as our club secretary. Audrey Spencer is our Treasurer followed by our new club reporter Colbie Johnson and Pyper Stanley as this year’s club historian.
Our club beef weigh-in was held on November 1st at Black Diamond Land and Cattle Co. Our whole club thanks them for letting us use their facility for many years now. It looks like all our projects are healthy, happy and ready to start off the year learning and growing together!
Almost every month our club hosts a clinic or workshop; this month was a diary workshop. We filled out our diaries from last year and if there were any new members in attendance they would learn about how to fill their future diaries. We also did our first club multi-judging event at weigh in. We have lots of exciting events ahead including our club Christmas party and some wonderful community engagement activities including hamper packing and visiting seniors.
