The summer reading program was a great success, with only two unadopted fuzzy panda bears. The children loved their reading buddies that they will get to keep.
Among the new books in are donations by Gary Turner, author of I’ll Take My Chances. They are in three volumes, tracing a span of five generations. It is an anti war story. They describe how conflict can fracture families, but also how it can foster resilience and healing. Gary Turner lives in Longview. tracpac users will want to know that as of September 17th. The URL trackpac ab.ca will change to TRACpac+ ,making research more accessible to all readers and on all devices.
A good read is Last Winter by Carrie Mac, who lives in Vancouver. It is a haunting novel that explores then impact of a fatal avalanche on a small B.C. mountain town, seen through the eyes of the survivors.
