MEDIA RELEASE: CONSERVATIONIST SARAH ELMELIGI SEEKS ALBERTA NDP NOMINATION IN BANFF KANANASKIS

Canmore, AB –Canmore resident Sarah Elmeligi is announcing her intent to seek the nomination for the Alberta NDP in the Banff Kananaskis constituency. Elmeligi is the first candidate announcing her intention to represent the NDP in the next provincial election in what is expected to be a competitive nomination race.
“I am excited to participate in this nomination race for my constituency,” said Elmeligi, “I may be biased, but I believe our riding is one of the most special in our great province. I look forward to meeting with constituents over the next few months to learn about what is important to them.”
As a professional biologist and conservation planner, Elmeligi has been working across the constituency on a variety of issues for nearly 15 years. Her professional experience includes working with multiple stakeholders to address land use planning issues. Currently she is the sole proprietor of Sarah E Consulting, a company that works with communities to define interdisciplinary solutions for complex conservation challenges.
“I value working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to define solutions that are good for people and good for the landscape. The Banff-Kananaskis Constituency is a very special place, appreciated by locals, Albertans, and international visitors for its natural splendor and varied recreational opportunities,” said Elmeligi.
“Jason Kenney was elected promising jobs and economic prosperity, but we have yet to see tangible outcomes and we’re over half way through his mandate. Rachel Notley has an inspiring and positive vision that would create sustainable jobs, a diversified economy, and stop the attack on public services.
