HIGH COUNTRY CHORALE – OCT 2022

Announcing the Return of High Country Chorale

Guess what? Those who love to raise their voices in song and have felt seriously deprived during the pandemic now have cause to celebrate. One of the most pleasurable of all human activities—singing with a group—was not recommended until COVID was brought under control. High Country Chorale, which draws its members from Calgary, Okotoks, Turner Valley, Bragg Creek, and surrounding areas, has been in suspension since late 2019. Now, we joyously announce that, having retired its former director with honours, it has resumed under a new director.

HCC practices are held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Red Deer Lake United Church, just west of Spruce Meadows. (At some future time, if enough choir members want it, a weekly afternoon practice may replace the evening one.) We present two concerts a year at the Church, one at Christmas and the other in the spring. We also perform regularly at retirement  facilities and nursing homes. Our mandate is a simple one: to share the joy of music with one another and to spread it as far as we can.

If you love to sing, please join us! That love, plus a small membership fee to cover the cost of music and facility rental, are our only requirements. Whether you sing soprano, alto, tenor or bass—or even if you aren’t quite sure which—we will welcome you with open arms and find a place for you.

Here’s to the power of music!
