Trail Talk
The fresh dusting of snow on top of Moose Mountain the last day of August gave BCT volunteers an earnest reminder to start wrapping up the never ending summer projects.
The winter grooming equipment for ski and fat tire trails is ready to go once conditions are amenable to start grooming. Let’s hope that Mother Nature is more generous in her snow delivery this coming winter season.
Timber harvest set to begin in West Bragg Creek and Moose Mountain recreational areas
West Fraser Timber (WFT) is on track to begin its planned 2026 harvest this October, with road construction, logging, and hauling operations expected to continue into January 2027.
BCT has been in communication with WFT throughout the planning process, with our involvement focused on minimizing impacts to the trail network and supporting health and safety of trail users while operations are underway.
Trails are expected to remain open throughout the harvest. WFT signage will be posted in the WBC and Fullerton parking lots to identify areas where logging g activities are taking place. On the trails, additional signage will identify haul road intersections and areas where trail users should use caution.
Please obey all posted signage, remain aware of active operations and do not approach logging equipment or work areas.
For details about WFT’s harvest plans, including current maps, work areas and timelines, please refer directly to West Fraser Timber’s website at www.westfraser.com.
