Happy New Year from the Square Butte Community Association!
We ended the year at Square Butte Hall with a super fun masquerade themed New Year’s Eve party. Alicyn Campbell & Band kept people two-stepping late into the night and our generous community donors came together to provide some over-the- top prizes valued at over $1200. The “Best Ladies Mask/attire” prize was sponsored by SpineSurfer.ca, Bohemia, Little Black Dress, Bluerock Gallery, Luxe Nail Bar and Sweet Briar. The “Best Gentleman’s Mask/attire” prize was sponsored by Rona, Diamond Valley Barber Co. & Marshall’s Country Store. The “Best Couple” prize was given a generous sleigh ride donation from Anchor D Guiding & Outfitting, plus contributions from Westwood, Bohemia, and Eco Liquor. We are fortunate to be surrounded by such an amazing community. The local businesses and volunteers who come together and dedicate the time and resources for community events are the reason our rural community is alive and thriving. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the New Year’s Eve event a success.
Looking ahead to the coming year, we are eager for community members to join the Association. Our rental team is needing support after we bid farewell to Lisa Lloyd. Lisa has been invested in not only our Association but the greater community for years. Her energy, ideas and wisdom will definitely be missed. Loreen Mazur has stepped in to fill her shoes, but we desire to create a dynamic duo in the rental team area. And if you have a secret love for spearheading fundraising initiatives we would be more than happy to make room at our table! At the cornerstone of every community is a great group of people and in 2026 we’d like to challenge you to be one of them!
