Happy Summer from the Square Butte Community Association! It’s hard to believe this summer is half over. As we head into the fall we look forward to gathering with our neighbors for some community events. Here’s what’s coming up:

Free Community Breakfast
Drop in for one of the best breakfasts in the Foothills! This is a great event to mix and mingle with your neighbors and also kicks off our annual membership drive.
Sunday, September 14th Annual Family Potluck & Games
The Square Butte Ladies Group is hosting this amazing family event. The fun and games kick off around 4pm followed by a delicious potluck dinner. More details will be posted on our website.
As we embrace the change in seasons, we are also facing some big changes within our Association. This past year our Board (reluctantly) bid farewell to Clayton Foster. Serving on our Board for over a decade, he invested a HUGE amount of time in the community. Clayton played an integral role in transforming the Association and bringing the hall to where it is today. There was very little that was left untouched and his enthusiasm, flair for spearhead initiatives and vigorous involvement will be deeply missed. We also bid farewell to Howard Richardson. Although his tenure wasn’t near as long, his positive energy and love for community will certainly be missed too. We wish both Clayton and Howard all the best as they begin new adventures and we can’t thank them enough, but now we are tasked with filling the big void that has been left in their absence. This is where YOU come in! Our Association is looking for people with new energy, or perhaps even some previous members with some renewed energy, that wish to join our board. Elections for vacant board positions will take place at our Annual General Meeting in November. If the thought of getting more involved sparks some desire, but you’re unsure of what’s all involved, please reach out. We’d love to chat and would be happy to have any interested candidates join us at one of our board meetings before the AGM.
