Kicking Tail in Robotics, Your Kids are Gaining an Edge on the Future
Your (grand) kid’s future is here … or at least it is with the Springbank Robotics Team: winning competitions and developing skills in technologies of the future.
Do you want to support Rockyview’s BEST competitive robotics team, and help further the robotics, innovation, and business skills of students in Springbank?
Of course you do! Read on about our amazing program, and how you can support us!
Springbank Robotics, a team at Springbank Community High School, was established two years ago with the support of a passionate teacher, Bob Mathew. A true sports team, not only a social club. For various robotics competitions, we have no more than three months to innovate, design, and build robots; parallel to this, we raise funds to pay all our costs.
Our robotics program gives students exposure to engineering, innovation, technical design, business management, marketing, project management, and many more skills that are desirable in future careers and throughout their lives. One of the most effective ways that you can support our team (team 14022 at www.firstinspires.org) is through your financial support as raw materials for robots are not cheap. There are also significant costs for both the competition and two demonstration robots; also costs for tools, safety supplies, competition fees, transportations, and team merchandise.
In addition to our Springbank High School affiliated team, we are also assisting the local middle and elementary schools to establish programs for the younger kids.
To learn more about robotics, its future, how your (grand) kids can join, and how to support us, join us at the Springbank Fall Fair on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
You can also support us in two other ways! First, Springbank Robotics is holding a raffle for a Panago Meal Gift, which includes 2 pizzas, 2 salads and 2 liters of pop! Second, we will be accepting donations to help further our robotics program. Your support of the Springbank Robotics Team is truly an investment in your (grand) kids’ future.
