Happy New Year Priddis! We hope that your holiday season was filled with happiness and time with those who are special to you.
As has been the case in previous years, our rink was a central part of many people’s holiday plans and it saw record use over the holiday break. Thanks to our army of amazing volunteers who kept it in tip top shape for our community to enjoy. As we head into January, the Priddis Panthers will begin practicing and hosting games on their home rink. Please make sure to check our website (www.priddisalberta.com) for up to date rink schedules that show when community skating is permitted and when the rink is reserved for Panthers’ practices, community shinny and Panthers games. We ask that all community members respect the schedule and vacate the ice when it is reserved or when the ice maintenance crew needs to work. Finally, just a reminder that everyone using the rink needs to have a PCA membership.
With the holiday season in our rearview mirror, our programs are starting up again. We hope we will see you at some of the following offerings:
Yoga: A wonderful class with a mix of flow and restorative movements that is suitable for all levels. Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:30pm at the Priddis Hall. Please email lorichinnery@heartomwellness.com for more information or to register
Parented Playgroup: Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in our preschool room. Enter through the NW door and head downstairs. This is a volunteer run, free program for PCA members.
Fitness Class: Join fellow community members for a fun workout with dance cardio, a full body circuit with bands, weights and core, and stretching. Suitable for all levels with modifications available. Please email lorichinnery@ heartomwellness.com for more information or to register
Indoor Pickleball: Due to low use, indoor pickleball will be moving to just one day a week. PCA members are welcome to reserve our indoor court on Thursdays between 1 and 7pm. Sign up here:

We also have a few events coming up this month and we hope that you will consider attending.
PCA AGM: Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday January 20 at 7:30pm at the Priddis Hall. All PCA members in good standing are welcome to attend. The Board of Director will be presenting highlights from 2025 and providing a look ahead to next year’s plans and priorities.
Community Shinny Tournament: On January 31, 8 local teams will compete for the Priddis Cup in this fun, community shinny tournament. We invite all community members to come down and watch. We will have great hockey, as well as a beer garden, a concession catered by an amazing Mexican food truck and a 50/50. All proceeds from this event go to support the upkeep and maintenance of our community rink. The Priddis Panthers will also be hosting a silent auction to raise funds for their year end tournament and they will have a lot of great items to bid on.
