As this icy winter is hopefully approaching its end, the Millarville Mutts & Mustangs 4-H members challenged what is one of the most feared events- public speaking. February 10th was club level speech day and February 17th was the club level presentations, the member’s arrived prepared with interesting and informed topics. The parents and volunteers did an amazing job creating an environment of support and community. A special thanks to the communications committee Nicole & Justin Baxter, Tammy & Haily Mazubert, Jenn and Syd Dunne. Sage Runge and Ella Hamilton performed their duties as emcees on speech day, with Joy Den Haan and Tait Ackermann emceeing on presentation day. Their introductions and jokes helped everything go by smoothly; creating an easier environment for our 4-H member’s to showcase their talents. The judges provided helpful feedback and thoughtful comments to help the member’s improve their skills for the future. Congratulations to our speakers who will be moving on! For juniors: Scout Dunn and Bianna Maull, (alternate – Josey Rawson) for intermediates, Kenzie Blyth and Eva Driscoll, (alternate – Milly Moldenhauer) and for seniors: Isabella Styles and Hailey Mazubert, (alternate – Jack Styles). Congratulations to our presenters who will be moving on! For juniors: Addie Whaling and for intermediate, Anna-Marie and Russell Hodson, and Tori Ackermann (alternative Justin Penner) for seniors: Cierra Hathaway/Lauren Kornelson & Bailee Smith (alternative Jeremy & Oliver Hartmann).
We are looking forward to the upcoming events including more speeches and presentations. We also have the upcoming Winter Workshop on March 11th, 2023 to create and show the member’s talents with their hands!
