School is open and running and the library is open on a regular basis : Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9 – 3, and Wednesdays 9 – 7:30. A big relief after the past few years!
Our fundraiser got off to a good start with the September bottle drive. There were several truckloads from Square Butte Ranches as well as others, including the newly named Town and Country Book Club from Priddis. Thank you to all who saved and saved for our library and thanks to the volunteers who delivered all the bottles to the bin. Your hard work brought in $865.00!
We also received a donation from the Square Butte Ladies. The Square Butte Ladies have been an integral part of our community for 81 years! During the war they were part of the auxiliary Red Cross and since then charitable efforts funded by dances at the hall, their legendary baking and of course the annual quilt raffle have helped numerous groups and individuals in our community. Thank you for helping our vibrant little library!
We will be hosting six workshops this fall. Our first workshop was needle-felted landscapes by Paula Kroeker on September 10. Paula generously donated part of her fee. Thank you!
The next workshop, October 27, is for the kids. They’ll decorate cupcakes with halloween icing designs. The details are below.
On November 5, adults and children will make beautiful wet-felted bowls.
On November 14 we’ll host incredible Christmas cookie decorating for adults, facilitated by Sheila Woolner.
November 24 will be making Christmas cupcakes for children, with Natasha Grusendorf.
Our final fall workshop, December 1, we will be making two glass fused fridge magnets for both children and adults with Saskia Knol. Just in time for Christmas gifts.
Details on the above three are on our webpage. All of our workshop facilitators are donating a portion of their fees to the library to help us meet our shortfall. We are so grateful to them.
Halloween Cupcakes with Natasha Grusendorf

Back by popular demand is this cupcake decorating workshop for kids. Come and learn some cake decorating basics and make some spooky designs.
Each child will come home with 6 cupcake creations. All supplies are provided. Just bring a container to bring your treats home with you.
Cost: $30 per child
Age: For kids aged 6-12, younger kids need an adult to help
Maximum: 10 children, adults can observe!
