On May 7th, the Millarville Community Library hosted a Wine and Cheese event for all of the book clubs in the area, something we’ve done since 2008. There were 26 people present representing eleven book clubs from Bragg Creek to Diamond Valley. Each book club gave a review of their favourite book of the year. Erin Whaling from Spisherbocker Books in Diamond Valley was present as well bringing advanced reader copies of the spring collection for distribution to the participants. Erin then gave a delightful review of several books after the book clubs made their presentations. The event was made possible with the amazing volunteer help of Norma Dawson (wines), Lorraine Clark (fruit, cheese and crackers, + nuts), Lorraine Vernon (gluten free sweets), and Kim Burns (set-up) and of course our brilliant organizer, Karen Whitlie. Well done everyone and see you again next year!

We would like to send a special thank you to the Millarville Horticultural Club for selecting our bid to spruce up our garden area by awarding us one of their Sandy Gregg Landscaping Grant’s. We are so appreciative of these funds. Thank you again! Work begins June 1st and we can’t wait to get started!
Interested in becoming a volunteer or board member? Please, drop in to see us and we’ll tell you all about it. We’re a great little library that does big things!
