Millarville Community Library – Jan 2026

Did you know?
The library will be closed for Christmas break December 24 – January 5. We will be open December 23 from 9-3. Come by to get your cozy holiday read! We have lots of Maggie Knox Hallmark reads, a good rom com like “Three Holidays and a Wedding,” by U. Jalaluddin and M. Stapley. Looking for something spicey? “How my Neighbor Stole Christmas” or “Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal “by Meghan Quinn. If romance is not your thing we also have several Christmas mysteries like “Everyone this Christmas has a Secret” by B. Stevenson or “Happy Bloody Christmas” by Jo Middleton. We also have many excellent cookbooks and ideas for decorating to help with your Christmas festivities

Would you?
Please get in touch with the library if you have an idea for something or someone the library can host. Author visits, crafts, hobbies, art displays, anything that would enrich our community.

Bouquets
We are very pleased that the Millarville Historical Society has put a display cabinet in the foyer of our library. Please pop in and take a look. This will be an ongoing display with new artifacts and information being refreshed all the time. Thank you for displaying with us!

We are thankful to our present Calgary artist Brenda Strandlund who is displaying her acrylic, nature inspired work on our walls. All of her paintings are for sale. Please stop by to check out these landscapes with their depth and range of color, light and shadows.

Need a read?
“Fifty Percent of Mountaineering is Uphill” is an incredible story of the life of Canadian Mountain Rescue Pioneer Willi Pfisterer by Sue Pfisterer. Incredible stories from the man that started mountain rescues. He was rescuing people near the Rogers Pass before it was named. Fascinating stories and inspiring people, including Gordon Lightfoot. – Sheila Hildebrandt, Millarville.

Wishing all the amazing volunteers and patrons of our library a wonderful, happy and healthy holiday season and all the best in 2026!
