Hospiceopoly: Annual Gratitude and Giving Gala
October 18 @ 6:00 pm
$175Foothills Country Hospice is excited to announce its annual Gratitude and Giving Gala, scheduled for Friday, October 18. This year’s theme, “Hospiceopoly,” is inspired by the classic Monopoly game and promises an evening filled with fun, food, and philanthropy, all to support the compassionate end-of-life care provided by Foothills Country Hospice.
With a fundraising goal of $250,000, the “Hospiceopoly” Gala will feature a variety of activities, a delicious buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, live music, and numerous opportunities for additional giving.
“Our goal with ‘Hospiceopoly’ is to create an unforgettable experience for our guests while raising much-needed funds for the Hospice,” said Lindsey Dunham, Event Coordinator. “We’ve put a lot of thought into every detail to ensure this event is both entertaining and impactful. It’s going to be a night to remember!”
Foothills Country Hospice works within a network of 7 area hospices encompassing the Calgary Zone. Since 2009, Foothills Country Hospice has served residents from across the region, with approximately 53% coming from Calgary and 47% from the Foothills area. The funds raised from this event will ensure that the Hospice can continue to provide high-quality, compassionate care to all who need it, regardless of their financial situation.
In addition to the evening’s entertainment, two unique sponsorship opportunities have already been secured, showcasing the incredible support of the Foothills community:
1. WATER WORKS
The “Water Works” sponsor, Big Rock Water Hauling, has generously committed $2,500 towards covering the Hospice’s water expenses. These funds will contribute to the total water bill budget of $19,500 for the 2024/25 fiscal year. At the Gala, guests will be able to further support this cause at the “Water Works” station, directly aiding the Hospice’s water needs.
2.ELECTRIC COMPANY
The “Electric Company” sponsor, Patel Private Wealth Management, has also pledged $2,500 to support the Hospice’s utility expenses, helping meet the annual utility budget of $64,900 for 2024/25. During the Gala, attendees can contribute to this cause at the “Electric Company” station, ensuring that the Hospice continues to operate smoothly and efficiently.
“As we approach the event, we’re excited to see the community come together in support of the Hospice,” said Shanon Maksymich, Fund Development Officer. “The funds raised will go directly towards ensuring that we can continue to provide compassionate care to those in need. We’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received so far and look forward to a successful event.”
