The New Year’s Eve Dance has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 7th, 2026. Check the Square Butte Community website for details on the Mardi Gras Masquerade Dance featuring Alicyn Campbell Bring your best masquerade and win over $1700.00 in great prizes for best costumes! Will be a great way to usher in 2026!

We are still looking for some volunteers for our casino drive. This opportunity to fundraise for the hall only happens every 3 years. Check the website for details to sign up for the upcoming May dates.

Ag Board
The Builder, Banker and The Brewer Seminar: Balancing Soil Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Prairie Fields. This free seminar will be held Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 at 12:30pm to 3:00pm at the Foothills Okotoks Regional Field House. Contact Kathleen McHugh at 403 603 5409. Millarville Community Library
The library would like to remind residents of their location on the West side of the Millarville School. They are members of The Regional Automation Consortium (Tracpac) system so items requested online from anywhere in Alberta can be picked up and dropped off at this location. Thanks to all the volunteers who make our library such a valuable community resource. The library is currently looking for a heavy duty outdoor reader board to post information on. If anyone could donate or find a free one it would be much appreciated.

Foothills Country Hospice
I was able to attend the grand opening of the expansion from 8 to 16 beds at the hospice. MLA R.J. Sigurdson and MP John Barlow were in attendance. Mayors from Okotoks , Tanya Thorne, and High River, Craig Snodgrass with some of their councils attended as well. Foothills County Reeve Rob Siewert and councillors Alger, Callister and myself enjoyed the tour. The hospice has compiled memory books commemorating all who have passed there for visitors to come and remember their loved ones. Congratulations to all the staff, volunteers and donors who have contributed to this amazing facility to help the residents and families in their time of need.

Rime Ice! I think!
Whether it was Rime Ice or Hoar Frost this past month we witnessed one of the most spectacular weather events that I personally have ever witnessed!
