Winter is here and Christmas is coming!
Public Works
A big shoutout to our Foothills County Public Works! After a big snowfall, the County’s Public Works staff plough through the night to try and get the roads cleared. They made upwards of three passes in a few days during the storm in November.
Snow Ploughing
One way we can help is to make sure the snow we plough off our internal roads does not get shoved across the County roads. That can cause problems for graders and for fellow travelers when it leaves a trail of snow for others who have to cross over. A good idea is to shove the snow in the ditch beside your entrance.
Council
Foothills County Council held its annual Organizational Day and elected the Reeve and Deputy Reeve and reviewed and assigned Boards and Committees. Congratulations to Reeve Delilah Miller and Deputy Reeve Rob Siewert on their respective appointments.

Foothills County – Proposed Fee Bylaw amendments.
The Council of Foothills County is considering amending Foothills County Fee Bylaw 73/2021, which establishes the fees, rates, and charges for a variety of municipal services.
On October 26th, 2022, Council granted first reading to Bylaw 58/2022 to amend Fee Bylaw 73/2021.

Prior to considering second and third reading to Bylaw 58/2022, the Council of Foothills County will hold a Public Meeting tentatively scheduled for Wednesday December 14th, 2022. Details regarding the Public Meeting will be posted approximately 3 weeks prior to the Public Meeting.

Millarville Stockland 4-H Club – Good News!
Congratulations to Millarville Stockland 4-H Club member Maddie Watkins who recently won the Carol Eignar scholarship at the Farm Fair. This does not surprise me having watched her in Public Speaking since she was very young.
