Bragg Creek/Redwood Meadows

Bragg Creek Centre – May 2024

BCCA

When you look through the eyes of children, a whole new world opens up. Suddenly what is old is new again and a Typical Tuesday can instead become a Terrific Tuesday, full of surprises and smiles. Kids don’t need a sunny day to feel happy, they generate their own buoyancy. Ten minutes is enough time to run through an entire play acting game, enjoying every minute without watching the clock anticipating it to end. Parents are lucky to be connected to this on a daily basis. But sometimes when you are living something up close, in the trenches so to speak, you can at times become immune to the joy. Grandparents often get to experience their grandchildren quite differently. They can see and appreciate the little things, take time to share happy moments and create new memories.

Our programming for Rumble and Roar, Pickleball, and Artsy Thursdays are going strong and will continue throughout spring. Visit the BCCA Website for online registration or call for more information.

A few dates to put into your calendar:

  • May 7 – Rural Moms are invited to a Mom’s Paint Night. Be sure to register if you haven’t already.
  • May 17 – Friday Movie Night! Watch the Website and our sign out front for the featured movie of the month.
  • June 14 – Friday Movie Night – OUTDOORS!
  • June 16 – Our Farmer’s Market starts up! This year we plan to feature some of our amazing community groups. Be sure to stop by the “Guest Host” tent each Sunday to meet that week’s group and support their endeavours. We will be reaching out to community groups with more details in May. If you don’t hear from us in the coming weeks, and are interested in Guest Hosting a Sunday market, please give the Community Centre a call.
  • June 22 – The Bragg Creek Foundation is organizing a Community Clean Up. More details are on the way.

The BCCA is organizing some Summer Camps for youth again this year. We will post information on the Website and via social media posts as soon as we have the details worked out.

Mother’s Day is on May 12. A day for love and gratitude. Let it also be a day to pull away from being too busy, or too tired, or too stressed, and instead, let it be a day to look through those wide open eyes of children and enjoy fresh new perspectives.

A Joyful Mother’s Day to all the Mothers and Grandmothers out there.
