Bragg Creek/Redwood Meadows

Bragg Creek Centre – Mar 2022

We have wrapped up another successful event at the Bragg Creek Community Centre and would like to thank all those who attended Winter in the Woods on January 29th. 1500 visitors were treated to live music, family games, ice competitions, hockey games, beer gardens, food trucks, Ladies Auxiliary Soup Kitchen, family skate times, an outdoor market and the crowd-pleasing attraction of human curling. We would like to thank our many sponsors: Basement Technologies, Elsdon’s Excavating, Gateway Developments, Little Schoolhouse, Walsh Equipment, Powderhorn Saloon, Franklin Sports, Kathleen Burk and Carmen Ryan for helping make our inaugural event an amazing experience for our community! We are also thankful for the local businesses who sold 420 pucks for our Chuck a Puck event. The winning puck was #168 belonging to Rod & Elizabeth of the River Dragonfly! They won $1000 and the naming rights to the rink for the year. Tiffany Sebolski was also a lucky winner, taking home her $765 share of the 50/50 proceeds. We could not have held an event of this magnitude without the many volunteers that came out to support us! We are appreciative of Brian Robertson’s vision for this event and look forward to hosting it again in 2023!

On March 12, country recording artist Gord Bamford will be performing live at BCCC. Proceeds from his concert will support three local organizations: Swamp Donkey Musical Theatre Society, Bragg Creek Performing Arts and the Bragg Creek Community Association. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased online at www.gordbamford.com.
