Chamber Update
Overall, it has been a positive summer here in the Hamlet despite the challenging weather. We saw an increase in visitors from the states and the UK, with the usual visitors from all over Alberta.
Our mobile visitor ambassador program continues to be a success, where we hired an additional employee and goat (Hendrix). This has enabled us to intersect visitors both in the Hamlet and in various day use areas for West Bragg Creek and along Hwy 66. Hendrix, the goat, joined the team to greet our visitors every Saturday in July and August, which was a great draw, and ice-breaker.
We continue to be a major sponsor of Bragg Creek Days. Despite the rain, the community spirit wasn’t dampened.
The Chamber continues to sponsor two students every year from the Foothills area to go and learn what it is to be an entrepreneur at the “Rotary Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp”. If you know of someone that would like to attend please let us know by contacting office@braggcreekchamber.com.
Mark your calendars to participate in the community open house at the BCCA on September 10th. For more information, please contact program@braggcreekca.com.
Keep looking for updates on the Scarecrow Scurry, and Spirit of Christmas. Another addition to the festival will be to light up trees in the Hamlet for the month of December. To sponsor a tree please email office@braggcreekchamber.com.
After the summer break, we are looking forward to restarting our regular meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Country Wood. The first meeting will commence September 18th at 7:00 pm. This is a great time to hear what other businesses are doing, network, and become part of the growing business community.
