Happy July! Your Bragg Creek Chamber is balancing a bit of time off for summer while continuing to be available to support the community. Our committees are active over the summer, we welcome anyone who wants to participate/join, and are here to answer questions so feel free to reach out!
BRAGG CREEK DAYS – Saturday July 20th
Come out to Bragg Creek Days with events around town, a parade, and the Farmer’s Market at the Community Centre. The Sunday Farmers Market has also started up again, with local food, drinks, produce, preserves, crafts, décor, garden goodies, candles, soaps, and sweet treats.
Travel Alberta Growing Tourism Economy in Eastern Slopes
We met with Travel Albert to engage and discuss their interest to grow the tourism economy in the Bragg Creek area, part of the Foothills Tourism Development Zone (TDZ). As one of 10 TDZ’s in Alberta, the Foothills TDZ includes Okotoks, High River, Nanton, Diamon Valey, and Longview. More on projected tourism growth potential in next month’s article. Community Beautification & Public Realm Improvements
The Chamber continually explores ways to make our community accessible, fun, and friendly. Here’s what to look for in the coming months:
- New street banners on Balsam Avenue and White Avenue
- New Mural
- Bike Racks at the Community Centre and around town. This is a joint effort between the Chamber and the Bragg Creek Community Association.
- Please contact the Chamber if you would like a bike rack installed at your business!
- Overflow parking lot and public restroom facilities
- Animal-proof waste containers
- Visitor kiosk
- New benches
Announcing New Social Media Manager The Chamber is pleased to welcome Imke Gudehus-Ryder! A former prairie girl now Bragg Creek resident, Imke comes with an impressive range of communications skills and innovative ideas to increase engagement and build relationships through our supportive initiatives. Imke will be reaching out to business owners soon, so keep an eye on your inboxes.
