Bragg Creek and Area Chamber of Commerce – Dec 2022

President message for year end 2022

Greetings everyone;

I am pleased to report many Chamber accomplishments this past year. Namely:

  • Bylaws updated; area map reach extended
  • Policy review underway
  • Onboarding documents created for new Board members
  • Gathered important historical documents and filed in one place
  • An interactive mural for photo fun!
  • Kiosk updates underway
  • Turnkey Succession planning via a timeline of decisions and events mapped out each month. This creates a proactive approach for strategic planning; budgeting; to identify clear goals and tactics for our funding requests.
  • Recruitment efforts – joining Board easier with above documents in place
  • Advocacy via many meetings with Rocky View County and new CAO
  • Launching Arts, Eats, and Beats festival
  • Comprehensive marketing plan for tourism and non tourism business
  • New website with events calendar and job board
  • Brand update – new logo and videos
  • Benches and tables along the berm (coming)
  • Several projects underway (survey, compost, high school)

The full AGM presentation can be viewed at www.visitbraggcreek.com.

I’m also delighted with the collaboration between Chamber and other groups:

Kiosk – with Bragg Creek Trails and Community Hall

Welcome to Bragg Creek baskets – Jenn Pole

Space rentals – Community Hall, Snowbirds and The Post House

Bear Presentation – Bragg Creek Wild

Upcoming festivals – Bragg Creek Performing Arts

Let’s keep this going! The events calendar is a huge step towards supporting all community groups and businesses with their activities. Please use it so we all know what is happening around town.

Thank you to Rocky View County and Travel Alberta for your monetary support that enable the Chamber to continue. Thank you Councillor Hanson for scheduling meet and greets in November and on Dec 8. Please go and speak with him! Thank you Gateway for the much needed additional parking beside Ida Mays.

Thank you to the Chamber Team of volunteers for your hard work. You are valued. To Bragg Creek and Area, thank you for your membership and I look forward to working with you all again next year.

Kind regards,
Sherri Olsen
President
