Beginning October 1, Alberta’s enhanced recycling system will use an expanded, province-wide list of accepted packaging and paper products. New collection and processing arrangements will accept more materials for recycling, including certain glass containers, foam packaging, flexible plastics, empty aerosol containers and laminated packaging. If an item wasn’t accepted in your local recycling program before, you were right not to recycle it. Now, as the recycling system evolves, more materials may be accepted. Please wait until October 1 before placing newly accepted materials in recycling. For more information, visit the Circular Materials website: www.circularmaterials.ca/resident-provinces/alberta
