We have a busy few months coming up at the library. The most exciting is our Reading Program where each child receives a fuzzy, furry stuffed animal. This animal is their buddy to keep and to read to over the summer months. They are to report what they have read to Lynda our librarian.
Shark Week, (beginning July 26 ) will be celebrated by a scavenger hunt, an estimation jar of shark gummies, and a take and make. The celebration of all things Shark is in its 14th. year and has a new line up of National Geographic documentaries.
The Tiny Art competition begins in July. Those competing can come to the library and choose their craft and frame. This is open to both children and adults and in the latter part of August a cash prize will be awarded to the winner.
A collection of 600 western DVD’s from the Definitive Western Collection has kindly been donated by Erika Smith. Patrons can enter their name for this collection. One entry will be counted for every item that is checked out. The draw will be on July 16th.
Lynda will be bringing in the new travelling Compassion Book display. It’s a collection of books on death and dying that provide insight, hope and peace in the end- of life- journey.
Have a wonderful summer!
