MILLARVILLE, ALBERTA— Step back in time and experience a world of knights, Vikings, wandering minstrels, artisan merchants, and medieval magic as the inaugural Millarville Medieval Faire & Artisan Market comes to the Millarville Racetrack from June 5–7, 2026.

Presented by LegendWorks Events Inc., this immersive three-day celebration invites guests of all ages to discover the excitement, wonder, and community spirit of the Middle Ages — right here in Southern Alberta.

Visitors can expect an unforgettable weekend filled with:

  • Full-contact live jousting
  • Heavy armoured combat demonstrations
  • A living Viking village
  • Storytellers, musicians, dancers, and entertainers
  • A curated artisan marketplace featuring handcrafted goods
  • Delicious food vendors and medieval-inspired fare
  • Costume contests and interactive family activities
  • Live performances and roaming characters throughout the grounds.

Building on the success of other Medieval Faire events across Alberta, organizers are excited to bring this immersive experience to Millarville for the very first time.

“This Faire is about creating memories,” says Gail Stamp, Lead Instigator of LegendWorks Events Inc. “Whether you come dressed as royalty, a Viking warrior, a wandering bard, or simply as yourself, everyone is welcome here. We’ve worked hard to create an event that feels magical, immersive, and family-friendly from the moment guests walk through the gates.”

The Faire combines large-scale entertainment with a strong focus on supporting small businesses, artisans, performers, and local tourism. Guests will have the opportunity to meet creators from across Canada and explore a marketplace filled with handcrafted jewelry, leatherwork, blacksmithing, fantasy art, medieval wares, clothing, apothecary goods, and more.

A highlight of the weekend will be the thrilling live jousting tournaments, where armored knights thunder down the lists in displays of horsemanship, skill, and courage.

Families are encouraged to attend in costume, though medieval attire is not required. The event is designed to be welcoming and accessible for longtime renaissance enthusiasts and first-time visitors alike.
