Spotlight on XCBC Athletes
XCBC is proud of our young athletes for their skill, determination, perseverance, and most importantly, their citizenship. This month, we would like to recognize one of our athletes who exemplifies XCBC values:

Ian Thomson
XCBC Sport: Nordic and Bike

Words from former Club President Graham Thomson: Ian Thomson has been a member of XC Bragg Creek for almost ten years. He started in the Recreational Bike program and Jackrabbits before joining Biathlon and then transitioning to Nordic cross-country skiing. He was also a member of the Performance MTB Bike program for several seasons and continues to fuel his passion for biking in Enduro MTB. He has coached in the Jackrabbits and Recreational Bike programs for several years, as well as volunteering as a chaperone at the Alberta Youth

Championships for the past two years. Ian has competed at both the Alberta Summer and Winter Games for biking and skiing. His humour, resilience, strong work ethic and dedication make him a vital presence on and off the trails. No training session is complete without Ian building a jump to ski or bike off of.

XCBC has provided Ian with a valuable foundation in sport that he will take with him as he continues his journey in skiing with Rocky Mountain Racers and biking with Alberta 66 MTB.
