DESCRIPTION:Our 4th Annual Foothills Freeze Ringette Tournament hosts 28 teams\, 360+ athletes\, managers\, coaches and families from Alberta and Saskatchewan at Okotoks Rec Center Piper Arena (Tournament HQ)\, Highriver Bob Snodgrass Arena and Okotoks Viking Gold Arena Jan 30-31 for the round robin games and Feb 1st for the medal games across 4 age groups and 7 playing levels. \nFoothills Ringette represents all of Foothills County and Okotoks\, High River\, Diamond Valley. All the tournament information (including divisions\, schedule\, and contacts) is available at https://www.foothillsringette.com/content/2026-foothills-freeze-information – we encourage folks within the community to come watch the the tournament games for free\, enjoy a couple local vendors onsite (Pressed YYC and Ranchers Creamery) participate in the silent auction\, plinko and raffles at the Tournament Hq – Piper Arena. There is also a matinee coaches game Saturday at 2:00PM at Piper Arena which was a full house last year! \nCome enjoy watching ringette with Foothills Ringette Association’s Freeze Tournament – featuring a U16 team for the first time. We are also looking for new players to join in our Activestart and U-10/12 Programs for which we will be hosting free Come Try Ringette sessions with equipment supplied 5 times between Mar-Sep 2026.

DESCRIPTION:Intermediate and Senior members from the Calgary 4-H region are getting together at Olds College for the annual Regional Public Speaking event. Members from Wheatland\, Rockyview\, Kneehill\, Foothills\, and Mountainview districts will meet to compete with amazing\, well researched speeches and presentations for a regional speaking title. \nWe welcome all to come to the event to support our future leaders at the Werklund Agriculture and Technology centre in Olds College on March 21. Speeches will start at 10am\, and presentations will start at 1:30pm. \nThe communications event is a mandatory part of 4-H and encourages all members to step out of their comfort zones and develop their public speaking capabilities. Many 4-H alumni find that the communications event has positively affected their lives in both personal and professional settings\, along with this\, members also tend to excel in school projects that require a public speaking portion. \nCompetitors had to advance through three different levels to get to regionals\, winning a first or second place to advance. The multiple levels in 4-H are as follows: Club\, Areas\, districts\, Regionals and provincials. Club level is the only required level and the first three welcome all members.
