Our mobile screening units travel to 120 communities throughout Alberta to provide convenient access to breast cancer screening. \nHaving regular screening mammograms is the best way to find breast cancer early\, before symptoms appear and when treatment may work better. \nWho should have a screening mammogram?\nIf you’re 45 to 74\, you don’t need a referral to have a mammogram. Make screening part of your regular health routine. Plan to have a mammogram every 2 years or as decided by you and your healthcare provider. \nIf you’re 40 to 44 or over 75\, discuss the risks and benefits of screening with your healthcare provider. You will need a referral if you’re 40 to 44 and it’s your first mammogram\, or if you’re over 75. \nCall toll-free to book an appointment: 1-800-667-0604 \nBreast density scores are now included in your Screen Test result letter\nBreast density is the amount of dense tissue compared to the amount of fat in a person’s breasts. It can be harder to find cancer in dense breasts because this tissue appears white on a mammogram\, the same colour as many kinds of breast cancer. It’s common to have dense breast tissue. \nDense breasts are only one of many risk factors for breast cancer. Other factors\, such as age and genetics\, have a bigger impact on your overall risk. You can’t tell how dense your breasts are by size\, look or feel. DESCRIPTION:BC indie-folk band Alma Narrows performs at High River’s The Venue\nSaturday August 1st\, at 7pm\n125 5th Avenue SW\, High River\, Alberta\nFREE \nAnna and Regan Luth of Alma Narrows are no strangers to Alberta\, but it’s been many years since the couple has performed in their home province since moving to Vancouver in 2018. The duo has spent the last eight years pursuing music and performing across the province. Described as an alternative folk duo\, they create music that explores tender moments of love\, loss\, and the wonder hidden in everyday life. \nRegan hails from St. Albert and Anna spent her formative years in Okotoks\, attending the Alberta High School of Fine Arts and taking part in the Main Stage and Vocal Jazz programs. Although they said goodbye to the prairies\, the Alberta landscape regularly returns in their lyrics\, like their song Where Do We Go\, which expresses both the beauty and pain of change: better borrowed autumn air / sentimental longing stare / better winter follow close / forest light / the shadows. \nTheir timeless sound includes guitar\, violin\, and intimate harmonies weaving together the spirited twang of Americana with artful melancholy. Alma Narrows draws inspiration from artists like Joni Mitchell\, Fleet Foxes\, Phoebe Bridgers and Feist. They balance raw lyrical introspection with just enough optimism to keep us hoping for the best in ourselves and each other. The band will perform their compelling\, vocally-rich music live at The Venue Summer Series in High River on Saturday August 1st\, at 7pm.

DESCRIPTION:Kidney March is a three-day\, 100-kilometre charitable walk from Kananaskis to Calgary in support of kidney health\, kidney disease awareness\, and organ donation. On Friday September 11\, 2026  Kidney March will be passing through Millarville and near Bragg Creek. On Saturday September 12\, 2026  it will travel through Kananaskis\, Bragg Creek\, and Redwood Meadows. As Marchers travel through these communities\, residents are asked to exercise caution on roadways and pathways\, watch for event signage and reduced-speed areas\, and be mindful of participants and volunteers along the road. Everyone’s safety is our top priority. \n\nCommunity support plays an important role in the success of Kidney March. Residents\, visitors\, businesses\, and community groups are encouraged to wave\, cheer\, and help motivate participants as they undertake their remarkable challenge. The encouragement of local communities can make a lasting impact on those walking in honour of loved ones and those living with kidney disease. \n\nKidney March is made up of everyday heroes doing something extraordinary. Participants challenge themselves to walk farther than they ever have before and raise more money than they ever thought possible.
