SUMMARY:Snowbirds: Ladies Group & Snooker
DESCRIPTION:Music and nature are deeply intertwined. Whether we realize it or not\, we encounter music daily\, from the songs of birds to the rhythmic hammering of rain on rooftops. Music evolves and changes like landscape and climate. It has peaks and valleys like our beautiful mountain range. Both music and nature possess the power to move us profoundly. \nFor centuries\, composers have drawn inspiration from nature. Ludwig van Beethoven\, for example\, took long walks in the countryside to clear his mind and find musical inspiration. Similarly\, Johannes Brahms\, a composer of the Romantic Period\, often sought refuge in his alpine lodge to compose some of history’s greatest music. \n \nChisel Creek Classical was created to reunite music with nature in an intimate\, familial setting. Nestled in West Bragg Creek\, this festival brings musicians together for a transformative two-week celebration of nature\, community\, and musical excellence. During this time\, artists immerse themselves in the stunning surroundings and timeless masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire. They delve into the depths of musical expression\, cultivating a profound understanding and appreciation for these extraordinary works. The beauty of Bragg Creek ignites a new level of inspiration\, enriching the musical experience and fostering a deep connection with nature and community. \nThis year we will feature two concerts this August. One on August 23rd and the other on the 30th. Join us on August 23rd at 17:30 for an array of chamber music from the High Renaissance & Baroque Period\, all the way to our modern day\, culminating in the world premiere of a string quartet by Calgary composer Samuel Kerr. This program offers both meditative and electrifying music which will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat with its dynamic rhythms and theatrical flair. Experience the thrill of witnessing new music come to life in the stunning setting of Chisel Creek Classical. \n\n\nOn August 30th we step into a world of late romantic masterworks by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Erich Korngold. These compositions are staples in the portfolio of each composer\, and will provide a rich\, soul-nourishing experience. \nBoth concerts offer an opportunity to witness the magic of chamber music in an intimate setting. Don’t miss these evenings of musical excellence in the beautiful surroundings of West Bragg Creek. Secure your tickets now for an unforgettable celebration of art\, community\, and the great outdoors. The artists this year include violinists Daniel Dastoor\, & Eunha Kim\, violists Shyler Macaggi & Tilman Sandvoss and cellists Lexie Krakowski\, and Sabina Sandvoss. \n\n\nPlease visit chiselcreekclassical.com for more details.
